Workspace Innovation: testing an idea before committing an estate to it

Most workplace mistakes are rollouts of something that was never tested. A setting works in a photograph, gets specified across four floors, and is quietly unused within a year.

Pilots and test-fits

One floor, one department, one honest measurement afterwards. We build the pilot, run it long enough for novelty to wear off, and measure occupancy and feedback against the baseline. Sometimes the answer is that the idea works but not here, which is a considerably cheaper thing to learn on one floor.

Product roadshows

Before Freshfields specified furniture for 250+ staff in Manchester, we ran roadshows so people could sit in the options. It is a simple thing that removes most of the argument later, and it surfaces objections while they are still cheap to act on.

Research, shared rather than sold

We publish what we learn — utilisation patterns, what reuse actually saves, what inclusive design costs, what people say about spaces they avoid. It is available whether or not you work with us.

Bring us a question

If there is something you are considering and unsure about, a pilot is usually the fastest way to a defensible answer.
