The JPA difference
What makes JPA different is that we care.
We have a plan and we have a purpose which is to to do well by doing good. We achieve this through our furniture related activities and combined operation, services and products.
We care about people. We're committed to creating workspaces that support wellbeing, collaboration and different ways of working post-covid, promoting greater inclusivity and diversity whilst also meeting the higher expectations off staff.
We also care about our planet. We're passionate about creating a better legacy for future generations, by doing what we can within our operational activity to reduce furniture waste, carbon and pollution. These steps sound pretty simple, but they also reduce harm to nature, protect valuable finite resources and eliminate landfill which we're really proud of.
If you'd like to find out more, we'd love to hear from you!
Circular award winners
JPA have been recognised for innovative service solutions that focus on reducing waste and embodied furniture carbon.
"Despite being a small business, this is an area where we can make measurable impact, in an industry know for high levels of furniture waste" says Fiona Edwards, Head of Sustainability. "Up to 1.2million office desks and 1.6million chairs go to UK landfill every year, may of them still for for task (WRAP), and we wanted to play our part in tackling this issue".
Our simple mission is to get more out of every piece of furniture, facilitated by lifecycle maintenance services including refresh, repair, reupholstery, reworking and take-back.
JPA are Edie Finalists and Edie Net Zero Finalist in 2024, and winners of the King's Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development and IWFM SME of the Year in 2023.
Lifecycle support
Our commitment to the creation of more responsible working and learning spaces is more than skin-deep. We live and breathe our values and that's why our services uniquely cover the full lifecycle of our furniture projects.
Working with clients, we specify, supply and install for longevity and circularity providing maintenance support, post-warranty care and repair services to help furniture supplied reach 2nd and 3rd lives. These services are enabled by JPA's in-house fleet, fitting teams, warehousing, local operation and low cost regular milk runs with ongoing reverse logistics.
JPA take-back and decommissioning services ensure zero-to-landfill through re-use at the highest level, with community rehoming bringing additional social value to our clients and our projects.
Expertise since 1974
When JPA was founded in August 1974, the mantra of its owner John Pulsford was ‘Quality Furniture, Quality Service’. The business supplied and provided long-lasting, quality furniture also supporting clients to maintain it during use - all part of the service.
Waste was shocking to war babies like John who had grown up with rationing of food and materials and where anything new was a luxury and needed to last.
Almost exactly 50 years later, our zero waste mantra is more relevant than ever in today’s Global Warming scenario. We remain committed to helping clients get the very best from their furniture through long-term relationships and lifecycle support.
Design for wellbeing
Wherever they are, workspaces play a significant role in user wellbeing, influencing physical and mental health, productivity and overall satisfaction. Here at JPA, we understand how to deliver bespoke, responsible workspaces, turning your vision into a reality.
Inclusive and accessible design enables the widest range of needs and work preferences to be met from an increasingly diverse workforce - increasing an organisation's ability to attract and retain talent, develop a strong culture and ultimately, thrive.
Our design team create people-centred, healthy environments for employee wellbeing, satisfaction, and productivity. We'd love to help you design yours.
Testimonial
“We’ve been working with JPA on the refurbishment and refurnishing of BRE’s offices at their Watford campus. JPA’s approach is innovative and pertinent to the times, prioritising the reuse, repurposing and refurbishment of furniture where possible along with new furniture provision and manufacture to provide solutions that are not only sustainable but reduce costs and add value.”
