JPA Workspaces celebrate King’s Award at Buckingham Palace

We’re delighted to have been awarded The King’s Award 2023 for Enterprise in Sustainable Development. On Tuesday 27th June, our Head of Sustainability, Fiona Edwards, represented JPA Workspaces at a royal reception at Buckingham Palace. Hosted by King Charles III, the event recognised and celebrated UK businesses in the award categories of innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility.

Amongst just 15 UK firms honoured by the award, JPA Workspaces stood out as the sole Hertfordshire business to be recognised in the Sustainable Development category. As well as this, we’re the only St Albans-based company to have received a King's Award for Enterprise.

An unforgettable evening at Buckingham Palace

Reflecting on this fantastic experience, Fiona expressed the team's overwhelming joy at receiving this incredible award. As recipients of this award, Fiona had the opportunity to discuss our environmental initiatives and meet royalty in the iconic Buckingham Palace.

Meeting The Royal Family

The highlight of the evening for Fiona was the opportunity to meet King Charles III in person and engage in conversation with him. The surreal experience left a lasting impression, showcasing the significance of The King's Award and the recognition it holds.

The royal reception at Buckingham Palace was a fantastic celebration of the best of British business. As well as The King, notable attendees included The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Environment Secretary Therese Coffey, and Business and Trade Secretary Kemi Badenoch. This esteemed event showed the importance of acknowledging and promoting businesses that excel in innovation, international trade, sustainable development, and social mobility, and we’re honoured to have been recognised as an innovative business by King Charles III.

A platform for future growth

Our COO, Richard Cooksey, expressed his enthusiasm and gratitude for receiving the 2023 award:

"We are thrilled to have received The King’s Award 2023 for Enterprise in Sustainable Development which provides a solid platform for our future growth.”

Fiona is delighted that JPA Workspaces are recipients of this prestigious award and hope it also helps to inspire other businesses to engage in positive initiatives:

“The team at JPA have been blown away by this Award which is incredible. It confirms our belief that every business can contribute positively to the social and environmental challenges of our time. Going to Buckingham Palace was a thrill, but meeting King Charles III and speaking to him was quite surreal. Being given the opportunity to meet other incredible businesses was so much fun - what a night!”
